Description :

Ibuprofen 400 mg is a medication belonging to the NSAID (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug) class. It is used to relieve mild to moderate pain, reduce fever, and treat inflammation. It works by blocking the substances responsible for inflammation and pain.

Indications:

Short-term symptomatic treatment of pain and/or fever:

• Headaches

• Toothache

• Painful periods

• Muscle or joint pain

• Feverish conditions accompanying viral infections

Dosage:

• Adults and adolescents from 40 kg (approximately 12 years) :
  1 400 mg tablet per dose, to be repeated if necessary after 6 to 8 hours.
  Do not exceed 3 tablets per day (i.e. 1200 mg).

• To be taken orally , with a large glass of water, preferably at mealtimes .

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to ibuprofen or other NSAIDs

• History of peptic ulcer or gastrointestinal bleeding

• Severe heart, liver or kidney failure

• Pregnancy (from the 6th month)

• Children under 12 years or < 40 kg

Precautions for use:

• Use the lowest effective dose , for the shortest possible duration.

• Avoid combination with other NSAIDs, including aspirin

• Seek medical advice in case of asthma, hypertension, digestive diseases or anticoagulant treatment

Possible side effects:

• Digestive disorders: nausea, heartburn, abdominal pain

• Allergic reactions: skin rash, hives

• Rarely: ulcers, digestive bleeding, kidney or liver problems

• Very rarely: severe skin reactions, angioedema
